APMP TCAUV Workshop on Digitalization in AUV Metrology and Rotational Speed Metrology was held in hybrid format in Hangzhou, China in October 2024. The Workshop was organized by National Institute of Metrology (NIM), China.
Dr. Longbiao HE, TCAUV Chair-elected from NIM, presided over the workshop. Over 30 metrology experts from China and various Asia-Pacific countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, attended the workshop in person. Delegates from Japan joined on line.
Ms. Wei GAO from NIM, APMP Executive Committee member, welcomed all the participants. Experts from NIM, KRISS, NMIJ, NMC ASTAR, NIMT, NMIM, and NML then presented 12 reports on acoustics, ultrasound, vibration, and rotational speed. Such cutting-edge technologies were shared and discussed as advanced acoustic imaging cameras, traceable automated noise monitoring systems, noise and vibration testing of automobile components and electroacoustic testing of smart phones and iPads.
All participants appreciated the significance of the crucial applications of AUV in emerging industries such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy and electric vehicles. Many TCAUV members expressed their strong desire to further collaborate on the future development of AUV metrology in the digital era.
