Dr. XIE Dongwei, Ph.d. in Economic Law, is Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of National Institute of Metrology (NIM), China, and the Secretary of the CPC NIM Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Dr. XIE has been engaged in the research of laws and regulations in the field of market regulation. He has participated in the second and third revision of Trademark Law of the People’s Republic of China, published more than 30 papers in the field of market supervision, and presided over the researches on reform of market supervision, development of advertising parks, the 14th Five-Year Plan for advertising industry development, innovation and internet economic supervision, etc.
Prior to his current position, he has held a series of positions in former State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (SAIC), successively, including Deputy Division Director of Legal Affairs and Division Director of International Registration, Office of Trademark, Division Director of Bilateral Cooperation, Department of International Cooperation. He has also served as Deputy Director of Market Supervision and Management institute in 2013, Deputy Director General level complaints and proposal inspector in National Public Complaints and Proposals Administration from April to September 2015, a member of Standing Committee of Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Yinchuan from August 2017 to April 2019, Deputy Director of Development Research Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation from September 2018 to November 2023.
In his current capacity, he oversees Office of Party Committee and Office of Discipline Inspection Commission.
