The first issue of NIM Newsletter is now available online. It is a new way of sharing updates on NIM’s research and operation with friends around the world.
This Issue comes at a special time when the world is experiencing severe impacts of COVID-19. During the past few months of a nationwide lockdown, NIM have turned part of its focus to the development of reference materials for SARS-CoV-2 testing, which have been distributed to a number of domestic test kit manufacturers, clinical laboratories and research institutes. Researchers in thermometry laboratories have also provided technical support to the calibration of infrared thermometers for fever screening widely used at entrances of public facilities in China. Besides, some changes in the organizational structure of NIM has recently been approved by its parent ministry. In this issue, readers will find information on the above topics.
