NIM and Huazhong University of Science and Technology Signed a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement on Research in Precision Gravity Measurement

NIM and Huazhong University of Science and Technology organized a ceremony celebrating the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement on research in precision gravity measurement in the Changping campus of NIM. Fang Xiang, Director of NIM, and Luo Qingming, Vice President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.

In the panel discussion before the signing, Fang Xiang and Luo Qingming wished that both parties would be guided by national needs, cooperate on key technologies of precision gravity measurement, independent development of novel gravity measuring instruments, promotion and application of such domestically produced instruments, as well as the performance evaluation of such instruments. Through this cooperation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology will establish and maintain a national measurement standard system relying on NIM, which can depend on the "Precision Gravity Measurement Research Facility", a national major science and technology infrastructure platform, under construction by the university. Both parties will form a comprehensive cooperative relationship in the field of precision gravity measurement and establish a Joint Laboratory in related fields.

After the signing ceremony, relevant personnel of Huazhong University of Science and Technology visited the laboratories of gravity reference standards and time & frequency of the National Institute of Metrology, China.
