Data center is a place to realize centralized processing, storage, transmission, exchange and management of information, it is a critical infrastructure in the big data era. With the increasing demands on data center performance that have risen from e-commerce, cloud computing, and the development of IoTs, a one-minute break of data processing may cause an incalculable loss, so the trouble-free and continuous operation capability is the lifeline for a data center. In 2015, NIM cooperated with the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) in launching a test and certification service for data centers. The project has brought back the confidence of those data centers in tackling with system redundancy and complexity.
In 2018, based on the practical needs of different organizations, NIM has further expanded and diversified its certification services. Certification on an entire data center has been extended to those on individual devices, for example, NIM has developed testing guidelines for diesel power generators and has provided technical consultancy for equipment selection and procurement. The content of certification also expanded from completion certification to energy-saving certification and operation & maintenance certification. Customers of these services included government departments, enterprises and institutions such as the People's Bank of China, State Grid, China Mobile, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
