Paul Dixon, Vice Director of BIML visited the OIML Issuing Authority at NIM on July 12 to have an amicable meeting with Fang Xiang, Director of NIM in connection with the development of the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and implementation of the OIML certificate mutual recognition system in China. Responsible persons of relevant departments of NIM participated in the meeting.
Fang Xiang firstly extended his welcome to Paul Dixon. He said that the successful transition and implementation of the OIML certificate mutual recognition system in China were inseparable from the strong support of the OIML. Reconstruction of the OIML certificate mutual recognition system has greatly boosted China's system of legal metrology to be further geared to international standards and is of great significance to improve China's international mutual recognition ability in legal metrology and promote the quality improvement and upgrading of China's legal metrology instrument industry. As the OIML Issuing Authority in China, NIM desires to continue to promote the OIML certificate mutual recognition system under the support of the OIML, promote and apply the advanced ideas of the system to more measurement fields, and contribute to the international legal metrology technology system.
Paul Dixon expressed thanks to NIM for its long-term support to the development of the OIML. He said that NIM effectively participated in the reconstruction of the OIML certificate mutual recognition system, did a great job in propelling the transition and implementation of the new certification system in China, and also made active contributions to the publicity and promotion of the OIML certificate mutual recognition system in Asia-Pacific. He expressed the hope to continue to deepen cooperation with NIM to jointly promote the continuous improvement of the OIML certificate system, thus benefitting more metrology instrument manufacturers in the world.
Paul Dixon visited the office of OIML Issuing Authority in China and OIML internal laboratory located at Changping campus of NIM and exchanged ideas with the research staff.
