Fountain Clocks

The main research direction of the fountain clock innovation team is to study the new technology of fountain clock and time  & frequency, including ultra-stable microwave source, to improve the stability of the fountain clock, and high-precision microwave frequency transmission of optical fiber. The current NIM5 fountain clock is the national measurement standard of seconds. The team won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016. The Class B uncertainty of the NIM6 caesium fountain clock has been initially assessed to be 0.6E-15, and is expected to be further improved and reach the world's leading level.
