The Second Experimental Base

Another landmark in the development of NIM is the construction of our Second Experimental Base, a well-equipped modern experimental site tailored for high-precision measurement and quantum metrology research.

The new base is located in Beijing’s Ming Tombs nature reserve. The whole reserve is cordoned off against any construction in the surrounding and thus provides the new base with high environmental stability, low vibration or noise interference and a very beautify idyllic scene with fruit frees, flowers and brooks.

The new base covers a total area of 561,085 m2. The first phase of construction was started in July 2005, it will take up 47,291 m2 and is scheduled to complete by the end of 2007. The first building group includes an administrative building, a guest house and a number of precision laboratories like the super-clean room, the vibration-isolated room and the anechoic chamber, etc.
