Overview

The mission of Food Safety Measurement Laboratory is to establish a traceability system for measurement of foods and agricultural products in China, to establish standards equivalent to national measurement standards maintained by NIM, to develop measurement methods, IDMS, for measuring trace organic contaminants and element in complex food matrices. Besides, the lab takes part in measurement comparisons organized by BIPM CCQM and APMP.

International Cooperation

  • CCQM organized eight key comparisons/pilot studies for elemental speciation from 2005. NIM organized and attended all of them, and got satisfied results. On this basis, 10 CMCs about element speciation were claimed.

  • Participate CCQM/OAWG meeting, coordinate and/or participate international comparisons in food analysis area, such as determination of melamine in milk powder (CCQM-K103), chloramphenicol in pig muscle, etc.

  • Humidity secretariat (OIML TC17/SC1)is responsible for the revision of three international recommendations including R59, R92 and R121.
