Director's Greeting

Considerable progress has been made in metrology of ionizing radiation recently. The division has established a value tracing system to meet the nation’s demand for ionizing radiation applications. It has established air kerma primary standards for (10~60)kV X-ray, (60~250)kV X-ray, and 60Co γ ray, 4πβ(LS)-γ primary standard and 4πα-4πβ low background primary standard for radioactivity high accuracy measurement It has participated in international value comparison activities including BIPM.RI(I)-K1, BIPM.RI(I)-K3, CCRI.RI(II)-H-3 and BIPM.RI(II)-K4.Tc-99m. Besides, the division also develops primary standards for absorbed dose to water in accelerator, high energy X-ray and electron radiation, air kerma in mammogram X-ray as well as primary and secondary standards for radon and radon progenies per volume for radon metrology. A number of young metrological scientists and technicians form the backbone of our research team, who carry out scientific researches to keep up with the rapid development of international measurement technology.
