Optical Disc Jitter Generator and its Calibration System

 

Jitter is one of the most important parameters in optical disc evaluation. This project presents a design of a simulated jitter generator based on sinusoidal frequency-modulated (FM) signal. An innovative method is proposed to calibrate the jitter generator based on Bessel-zero method. Finally, measurement uncertainty of the calibration system is analyzed. The results of theoretical analysis and experiments indicate that the expanded uncertainty of measurement is 0.13% in CD mode, and 0.18% in DVD mode, while k=2.
