Research on Video Distortion Calibration

 

In order to calibrate the quantitative value of video distortion, the theory and process of measuring distortions of differential gain (dG) and differential phase (dP) are analyzed. A video distortion generator is developed based on a series of video distortion signals which are produced through digital signal synthesis method. The calibration system of the video distortion standard and its measurement uncertainty evaluation are described in detail. The video distortion value is traced to the voltage standard and phase standard. The results of theoretical analysis and experiments indicate that the expanded uncertainty of measurement is as follows( k=2):

 

luminance amplitude: 0.3%

 

chroma amplitude: 0.3%

 

chroma phase: 0.1°

 

dG : 0.48 %

 

dP: 0.14°.
