Time Constant Standard of Four Terminal Resistors

 

The research in time constant standard of four terminal resistors is to establish a phase angle standard for AC shunts at different frequencies. This work will provide a tracing source for transient AC currents, AC power at high frequencies and harmonic power.

 

Fluke Corporation, USA, has built a new high precision AC current shunt A40B, and the shunts have been applied in harmonic measurement in electrical power systems. Meanwhile, more and more clients require calibration services to measure phase angle errors of the current shunts. For example, 514 Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has purchased the shunts from SP. Establishment of the time constant national standard began in 2008 and was finished in 2011. Based on technology of binary inductive current divider and inductive voltage divider, the range of the shunts has been reach at mΩ level only in one step. The measurement uncertainty is less than 3×10-11 s.
