Establishment of 100 kN Deadweight Force Standard Machine

 

100 kN deadweight force standard machine will be accomplished in the end of 2012 at NIM. This machine is capable of realizing force from 1 kN to 110 kN with 1 kN force step both in compression and tension. 31 pieces of weights of the machine can be selected optionally to supply force, as a result when the force transducers with different rated capacities are calibrated, the weights need not to be exchanged and counter-force can be avoided during the loading process. The loading time for each force step is same. Equipped with temperature chamber, type test of load cell in accordance with the international recommendation of OIML R60 can be done on this machine. The expected uncertainty of the machine is less than 2×10-5 (k=3).

 

The machine consists mainly of fixed frame, cylinder and piston assembly, loading frame, weights, weights lifting frame, weights supporting frame. In order to realize the wide force range of 1 kN-110 kN, simultaneously to ensure the strength of the loading frame, the loading frame of the machine is made as two separate parts: reverser and suspension rod, the weight of each part is 1 kN respectively. The machine employs 31 pieces of weights, which include 5 pieces of 10 kN weight, 5 pieces of 5 kN weight, 1 pieces of 3 kN weight, 10 pieces of 2 kN weight and 10 pieces of 1 kN weight. The reverser, suspension rod and 31 pieces of weights can be combined optionally, when the force transducers with different rated capacities are calibrated, the weights which supply force need not be exchanged and there is no counter-force during loading, thus the high precision force measurement can be realized. Equipped with temperature chamber, type test of load cell in accordance with the international recommendation of OIML R60 can be done on this machine.
