The Contribution of the French Metrology to the Redefinition of the SI by Mr. Luc Erard, Research and Development Director, Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais (LNE), France Luc Erard got his engineer degree from The Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité in Paris. Luc joined the LCIE in 1971 after a year and a half spent at the NBS in Boulder. After performing research in RF and microwave, he became director of the metrology activity developing standards and calibration activity within electricity, X rays, optics, time and frequency and temperature. Then Luc joined BNM as director in 2001 and LNE in 2005 as Research and Development director. Luc Erard served EUROMET as chairman from 1998-2000. He is currently the chairman of the Consultative Committee for Time and Frequency (CCTF) of the CIPM and is also the Chairman of European Metrology Research programme (EMRP) of EURAMET. see also: NIM Home Page |
